The Australian Dental Foundation is a health promotion charity, providing oral health care and education to children, teens, seniors and those with intellectual and physical disabilities across metropolitan and regional sites in Australia; all of whom suffer the greatest burden of oral disease. We provide professional and high quality dental treatment onsite and rely on the generosity of the community to fund our work to achieve a decay free future.
Our vision is to address inequalities in oral health, and reduce the barriers to enable professional and high quality oral health care and education for all through partners and sponsorships, mobile dental clinics, fixed clinics and policy and advocacy.
Partners and Sponsorships
We actively partner with a variety of organisations to provide accessible oral health care and education across Australia. To name a few: Cancer Council SA, The Smith Family, Foodbank SA, SASPA, SAPPA and SACPA.
Mobile Dental Clinics
Our My School Dentist and Aged Care programs have provided services at hundreds of sites, improving the oral health of thousands of children, teens and seniors through timely intervention, primary prevention and maintenance strategies.
Our Mobile Clinics offer a wide range of services you would expect from a general dental practice, and enable the Australian Dental Foundation to organise treatment to be undertaken for patients at the following sites (pending suitable facilities being available for use):
- Within Schools
- In Rural and Remote Communities
- At Aged Care Facilities and Retirement Villages
- Day Care Centres
- In Hospitals
- At Sporting Clubs
- At Residences
In partnership with a network of local dental providers, our My School Dentist and Aged Care programs can offer our patients a full-range of general, preventative and restorative dental care. This flexible delivery platform enables our clinician to provide onsite general dental care and any recommended treatment at partner dental clinics which cannot be provided in a mobile dental setting.
Policy and Advocacy
We regularly drive and influence government policy and actively campaign to increase the interest of oral health in the media as well as developing resources to further educate the general public. Recently, we have collaborated with the Cancer Council SA to produce a resource to educate children about the health impact of sugary drinks. It aims to encourage children to swap out sugary drinks for water.
