About Us
We are leading the fight against oral disease.
The Australian Dental Foundation (ADFi) was established in 2015 with a simple but ambitious goal: to improve the nation’s oral health, one tooth at a time, and create a decay-free future.
Since then, ADFi has grown into an independent, national, award-winning health promotion charity, delivering impactful community programs and support that improve oral health outcomes and overall wellbeing across Australia.
We work to reduce inequalities in oral health by improving access to quality dental care for those who need it most. While most oral health conditions are preventable and highly treatable when detected early, children, adolescents, older Australians, people living with disability, First Nations peoples, and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds continue to experience some of the poorest oral health outcomes.
Many Australians face barriers to accessing dental care, including financial hardship, transport challenges, limited oral health knowledge, and inaccessible services. Our charity works to overcome these barriers and ensure more people can access the care and support they deserve.
Since our inception, we have supported more than 130,000 Australians, helping improve oral health and change lives for the better.
While we are proud of the impact we’ve made, our work is far from over. There is still significant inequality in oral health across Australia, and we remain committed to reducing the harm caused by oral disease and creating healthier communities for future generations.
Every day, we work towards a decay-free future by:
-
Facilitating and expanding access to timely, quality primary dental care for all Australians.
-
Promoting good oral hygiene habits and healthy nutrition.
-
Providing vital support when Australians need it most.
-
Advocating for improved oral health services and better outcomes for communities across Australia.
