On the Road with Smiles for Miles

Access to dental care should never depend on where you live. That’s why we’re so proud to be taking the Australian Dental Foundation’s (ADFi) mobile dental service to schools and aged care facilities across South Australian regional communities.

Through our Smiles for Miles initiative, ADFi is bringing essential dental care directly to regional communities across South Australia. The initiative is part of an 18-month, $1 million project focused on improving access to oral health care in regional areas, with $200,000 in support from the Country SA Primary Health Network. By bringing our mobile dental service directly to schools and aged care facilities, Smiles for Miles helps make quality dental care more accessible to those who may otherwise face barriers to getting to a dentist.

Our dental van has already visited schools in Kingston-on-Murray, Monash, Lameroo, Pinnaroo and Waikerie, with many more regional communities to come. School student check-ups are bulk billed directly to Medicare.

We’re also visiting aged care facilities, bringing essential oral health care directly to residents who may find travelling to a dentist difficult. This not only makes care easier for residents, but also takes the pressure off families.

Good oral health is an important part of overall health at every age. By bringing dental care directly into regional communities, we’re helping make sure more children, families and seniors have access to the care they need.

We’re so excited to continue bringing smiles to communities across regional South Australia!
