Having access to basic oral health products is something many Australians take for granted, but for some, even a tube of toothpaste can be out of reach.
On Thursday May 7, the Australian Dental Foundation will give away over 5,000 free tubes of toothpaste to the public in Rundle Mall Adelaide from 10am to 3pm as part of Brush for Good Day, within its broader Brush for Good Month campaign.
The initiative aims to encourage better brushing habits and raise awareness about the importance of oral health across the community.
“Brushing your teeth twice a day is the number one way to prevent dental problems,” Australian Dental Foundation Chairman Dr Greg Miller said.
“Events like this are about making oral health simple, accessible, and front of mind for everyone.”
The Foundation continues to deliver mobile dental care and education programs across schools, aged care facilities, and childcare centres, supporting improved oral health outcomes for vulnerable Australians.
“Every day we are working towards a future with better oral health for all Australians,” Dr Miller said.
“Something as simple as a toothbrush and toothpaste can make a real difference.”
The upcoming event builds on recent community outreach, including a World Oral Health Day activation at Elizabeth City Centre where more than 1,000 tubes of toothpaste were distributed.
In addition to the giveaway, a variety of the Foundation’s own oral health products will be available for purchase at affordable prices, with all proceeds supporting the Foundation’s charitable programs.
